My interest in birth work began in childhood with a mom who taught Lamaze classes (and also gave birth to and raised six fabulous children). It was because of her that I grew up knowing I wanted to be a mother, as well as the gift of seeing giving birth as a powerful, sacred privilege. My husband and I took Bradley Method classes when pregnant with our first child in 2002, and were grateful to have 4 children (both in hospital and out of hospital settings) using those principles. I certified as a childbirth educator and birth doula with The Bradley Method in 2011, and as a postpartum doula with DONA in 2019.

I want women and families to know the options available to them, as well as have the tools to communicate effectively with their birth team. I am also aware of the adjustments involved in the postpartum period and am able to provide physical, emotional, and educational support for that time. As a childbirth educator, labor and postpartum doula, I provide information, education, resources, support and reassurance to you and your family.

My family and I live in Alexandria, VA. I enjoy taking time each day to sit down to dinner together with my family, going to the beach together, serving in our church community, sweaty work outs, and tap dancing.
